The Art of Architecture in Bricks
From Sydney’s shimmering Parkline Place to the award-winning Boola Katitjin in Perth, Australia, Playwell Bricks’ architect clients have commissioned structures as varied as they are complex. And Playwell Bricks loves the challenge.

Building the Unbuildable (At Least in Miniature)
Playwell Bricks designers use advanced techniques to reflect the unique angles, materials, and design elements of each building. Even when working at microscale or with tight part counts, the spirit of each structure comes through.
As Playwell Bricks designer Garrett Gourley puts it, “I pride myself in trying to capture every detail to showcase the true scale of a building in a small form.”
Architecture and Bricks: A Natural Fit
It’s no coincidence that so many clients in the construction, engineering, and real estate sectors turn to Playwell Bricks to commemorate their achievements. Architects and builders are already drawn to the modular logic of brick-based building systems and combined with the childhood nostalgia a custom Playwell Bricks set invokes, these sets invite tactile engagement and celebration.
Take Parkline Place: commissioned by Investa and designed by Foster + Partners, this striking Sydney landmark was reimagined in over 1,000 bricks. Our design included everything from green rooftop terraces to sleek window detailing. It wasn’t just a model, it was a tribute to design itself.
Celebrating Milestones with Meaning
Architecture models aren't just technical showpieces, they’re vessels for memory, recognition, and legacy.
For the Arthur M. Blank Children’s Hospital, our microscale model honored both the physical space and the emotional purpose behind it: creating a safe haven for families. For One Call’s CEO, the custom set of their Florida headquarters became more than a parting gift, it was a way to continue bonding with his nonverbal son through their shared love of building sets.
In these moments, bricks become a bridge between people, achievements, and the places that define them.
When It Has to Be Just Right
Creating a miniature version of a real building is part art, part negotiation. Sometimes, that means simplifying complex facades for clarity, as with the Rockefeller Group’s 600 Fifth Street project, where over 300 transparent 1x1 bricks were used per set to replicate the glassy skin of the tower. Other times, it means reworking entire roof structures, like with Boola Katitjin, to mimic timber-framed trusses in ways bricks weren’t designed to do.
“We learned so much from this one,” said Playwell CEO Jason Pyett. “About the roof, about hinges… every facet taught us something new, just like the building’s name implies.”
