When it comes to internal conferences, every department wants to walk away with the social credit of bringing the wow factor. And that’ s exactly what TE Connectivity’s electric vehicle (EV) automotive division wanted for their upcoming conference, too. In partnership with Bowstring Studios, they reached out to Playwell Bricks to ask about a custom EV set.

TE Connectivity’s Global Leadership Conference was scheduled for May 2025 in Athens, Greece. Over 300 TE leaders would be in attendance, and the leadership teams wanted some of TE’s divisions to set up booths in the conference space to share what they were doing with the rest of the leaders. Naturally, things got a little competitive. After all, who wouldn’t want to shine at a conference filled with leaders?

The EV team’s contact at Bowstring Studios explained their ideas to Playwell Bricks on their discovery call, where Playwell Bricks CEO Jason Pyett showed them the custom set that Playwell designed for Molen Services, Inc. previously. It turned out that the EV car and EV charger in that set were exactly what Bowstring and TE wanted. After a quick redesign and fresh graphics to represent TE Connectivity, this custom set was ready to go!

This project was on a tight deadline, but everything came together with only a few hiccups and was expected to arrive within plenty of time for the conference… until the sets were held up at customs. The Playwell team watched nervously, keeping communications open with the contacts at Bowstring and TE. Finally, customs released the set in the nick of time, only for the conference hotel to refuse to accept the package, an unexpected snag. Playwell Bricks held an emergency admin discussion to solve this fresh problem, and found a solution: they’d hire a customs broker to retrieve the package and deliver it to the conference directly.

“It’s just one of those things you do,” explains Jason. “That’s the stuff we do in the background whenever it’s needed.” Jason takes immense pride in the fact that Playwell Bricks’ customer service sets Playwell apart, and this was definitely one of those occasions. “There were originally three vendors who were supplying things for TE Connectivity at that event in Greece, with only one that delivered,” he says, “and that was us.”
