It’s never easy to lose a team member that you value, and that’s how Playwell Bricks feels about saying goodbye to our awesome admin team and designer José Bañuelos Pieck. It does get a bit easier to know that they’re leaving to pursue his dream job as a Model Designer at the LEGO® Group “after almost four years, 30+ applications, and many interviews” as he wrote on Linkedin.

From his first Playwell Bricks design for Advance Displays where “I had to learn a lot on the go, putting function over design, cost over aesthetics, and making it as simple as possible,” José has certainly left his mark on Playwell Bricks. It’s no mystery that one of his latest projects, the Gibson Hawk where “everything flowed smoothly,” was due to his ever-expanding expertise and experience.

“We want to give a huge thanks to José for everything he has added to our organization in the time he has been with us,” Playwell Bricks CEO Jason Pyett wrote. “It is bittersweet, but we couldn’t be more happy for him.

"Like our motto states, we are building dreams, and that applies to our team as much as to our clients. I always say we have the most incredible team and the fact that this is our second designer to move onto LEGO® just proves the point!”

“Working with you was definitely a pivotal point in my life,” José told the Playwell Bricks team.

Truly, it’s a poignant moment, and Jason said it best. “We all truly hope José has an absolutely incredible journey with this new position and he goes knowing that he will always have a place at Playwell if he wishes in the future. Keep building your dreams, José!”
