Doner, a creative agency working for the UPS Store, Inc., came to Playwell Bricks looking for something dynamic and fun. The UPS Store, Inc. had a franchisee conference coming up and they wanted a large display mosaic for this conference featuring the conference logo of Link, Learn, Lead as well as smaller, individual sets for their CO-OP leaders to take home with them.
GROWCON
The UPS Store, Inc.’s internal conference, called growcon, is a spring event designed to inspire, connect, and inform their CO-OP leaders, a term used for their franchise owners. UPS planned panels, workshops, and inspirational speakers. They even created an app to help their CO-OP leaders get the most out of the conference as well as their visit to Austin, Texas, where the conference took place.
It's a huge event to put together, so when they wanted to ensure their leaders got the most out of the event, they knew they had to engage everyone in a memorable, lasting way. Having them build something out of bricks breaks the monotony of sitting and listening, and give these conference-goers something tactile that engages their bodies and their creativity in a way that builds camaraderie and creates real connections between franchisees.
THE SETS
“The big event at this conference was going to be creating this mosaic that I designed,” explains Playwell Bricks CEO Jason Pyett. “Each person would do one or two sections and then they unveiled the big mosaic at the end.” That’s a fairly strong metaphor for building the UPS brand together!
Jason also designed the individual sets that the franchisees would take home. Unlike the main mosaic, these were small to be packed into a suitcase. They would also serve as a vivid reminder of the networking, learning, and celebration attendees experienced at growcon.
