The Set Through the Years
The first time PLP met Playwell Bricks was way back in 2022. Playwell Bricks CEO Jason Pyett and team member Petrus Gartler collaborated on the design, which included a larger custom set showcasing two lineworkers, two utility poles and line, three support vehicles, one of which is towing a trailer of important supplies, and a smaller version, which has the lineworker with his two connected utility poles, ready for work.
PLP offered a draw for the larger set at one of their 2022 tradeshows, and it went over so well that they’ve returned to reorder more set of this custom Playwell Bricks design not once, but three times!
Of course, there have been a few changes over the years. With the original set, there wasn’t time to print the PLP onto the minifigures’ hard hats and still make their delivery date, so Playwell Bricks ordered stickers instead. On the re-orders, PLP requested the printed hard hats, and there was plenty of time to oblige.
Other aesthetic changes came as well, such as a request to change the original torso to better reflect a safety vest, and a few changes to the build instructions that Playwell Bricks was happy to make.
International Lineman’s Rodeo
The most recent order of this Mini Line Crew Set made it to PLP’s LinkedIn page, where the Playwell team got an inside look at how their custom sets reflect PLP’s commitment to the brave line crews and the hard work they proudly accomplish every day. As a gift at the International Lineman’s Rodeo, an event where lineworkers were able to show off their skills to their families and kids, it’s safe to say that PLP can add connecting with the lineworker community to their list of connections made.
