Metso, tech provider for aggregates, mining, recycling, and refining, came to Playwell Bricks when they needed a giveaway item for an upcoming event. They had two or three ideas and a very tight deadline. Given the time frame, they decided to have us design a simple van with a minifigure to represent their company.

Our CEO Jason Pyett designed the van, while Luka Inaudi designed the minifig in a safety vest for the company. Metso specifically requested that the minifig appear androgynous. For that, we had to do some magic, as Jason likes to say. A third team member, CJ Hendrix, was able to create the androgynous affect for the minifig’s face.

Once ready, Jason sent the finished design to Metso. They came back with specific suggestions: they’d like the side and rear doors of the van to open, and they wanted to be able to put the minifig worker in the driver’s seat of the van. An adjustment here, a few hinges there, and we were able to incorporate their ideas. Pleased with the changes, Metso gave us the go ahead to move to the next step.

Production, instructions, and delivery went smoothly and soon Metso had their custom van sets on hand for their event. Even better, Metso has recently returned with a second order. We’re always proud to have repeat customers!
