Hidden Gems: How a Custom Playwell Set Dug Deep for Metso

introduction

Industrial machinery company Metso planned to host an aftermarket event on Liveroom called Find Your Hidden Gems in October of 2023. The purpose of the event was to aid their clients in maximizing the potential of their Metso brand equipment.

the challenge

Metso knew that they wanted to host a giveaway to show their appreciation to the clients who attended the event. They brought a few ideas and tight, six-week timeline as they approached Playwell Bricks for the solution.

the solution

Given the timeline, Playwell Bricks CEO Jason Pyett suggested they go with their simplest idea: a Metso-branded van complete with a non gender specific minifig wearing a safety vest. Pyett designed the van himself, while fellow Playwell designers Luka Inaudi and CJ Hendrix handled the minifig.

Once complete, Metso requested a few final tweaks. They wanted the doors of the van to open and the minifig to take a seat inside. Playwell Bricks amended the design, ordered the bricks, and the custom sets went into production.

the results

Metso received their initial order of 30 custom sets in time for their Hidden Gems event, then quickly ordered 80 more. Since then, Metso has returned to Playwell Bricks for a custom set of another of their machines, which might just be the best feedback of all.
