Malvern Panalytical is a scientific instrument manufacturer that provides and develops software for materials characterization (how scientists and engineers measure, test, and understand the properties of substances). A representative from Malvern Panalytical reached out to Playwell Bricks because they were interested in creating custom sets of some of their products.

During their discovery call, the client explained that they wanted to commission a custom Playwell Bricks set of their Mastersizer product to give away at tradeshow events.

“The Mastersizer uses carefully aligned optics and controlled dispersion pathways… to capture scattering patterns with exceptional sensitivity.” They felt that this process closely aligns with the building processes of bricks and wanted to highlight that somehow. They also wanted a way to highlight how well it works in unison with two other brands.

Playwell Bricks designer Eric Dubois Yang took the time to research the function and use of the Mastersizer before he delivered the first concept. “I thought that the laser could be quite easily implemented, and I wanted to give it a go without increasing the parts count, as it would also allow me to organize that way the structure comes together,” he recalls. 

“The Mastersizer has two open-able hatches, showing the two modes of laser function it provides,” he adds with pride. 

To highlight how well the Mastersizer works with other brands, the client sent over marketing copying to be including in the Build Instructions. This way, their recipients could learn all about Mastersizer while they are actively building their own. 

With these custom Playwell Bricks Mastersizer set, Malvern Panalytical has a tradeshow giveway that showcases their product in an engaging way. The Build Instructions offered an excellent place for Mastersizer to celebrate the three leaders in their field while also highlighting why they chose bricks for this set.
