The Lazy Frog is a shopping attraction in Martha’s Vineyard that’s dedicated to leisure and fun. Their logo features a stylized map of the island drawn to look like a lazy frog named MarVin (get it?). But then the fun shop that had everything… noticed something was missing. The Lazy Frog sent a request to Playwell Bricks to see if a custom Playwell Bricks set of their logo to sell in their shop would be possible.

A discovery call with Playwell Bricks CEO was booked to discuss exactly what they wanted and then Playwell Bricks designer Jared Oswald started on the design. The client at the Lazy Frog sent back the first few design drafts with suggestions. It was a unique challenge to create a brick set from another person’s artwork!

“This one took a lot of revisions,” explains Jared. “It was definitely a collaborative effort to get the right expression on the frog’s face.”

The client also requested a precisely-positioned lighthouse, a ferry, and a whale fluke rising from the waters surrounding the island. Because the parts count of a custom Playwell Bricks set is determined by the project’s budget, “I only had five parts left to make a convincing ferry,” Jared tells me. “I’m particularly happy with that part of the model.”
