Haivision is an award-winning (seriously, they won an Emmy) provider of mission-critical video networking solutions. The “hai” in haivision is the German word for shark, and Haivision has leaned right into this connection, adopting the shark as their unofficial mascot, including one on their logo, and even going as far as referring to their team members as sharks.

If you’re thinking, hmm this sounds familiar, it might be because you’re familiar with the shark mech that Playwell Bricks designed for Haivision a few years ago. Well, the team at Haivision liked that first set so much, they returned to Playwell Bricks for a second shark mech suit. That first set featured a shark wearing a mech suit with all the tech trimmings. This time, Haivision wanted to see a person wearing a shark mech suit.

Playwell Bricks team member Petrus Gartler, who designed the original shark mech for Haivision, also designed this new suit, bringing with him the knowledge of Haivision’s style and branding that he picked up on the first set.

With a smaller parts budget than the original, Petrus designed this set around a classic minifigure, including both a masculine and feminine head at Haivision’s request. Once the mech aspects were established, it was time to add in the Haivision sharks on the arms and the larger Haivision: Mission-Critical Systems logo on the chest.

When the moniker of “Deepfin Operator,” this custom shark mech suit set is a real crowd pleaser. When Dustin Bilthouse of Haivision shared these sets on LinkedIn, he encouraged everyone to hurry to the Haivision tradeshow booth because these custom Playwell Bricks sets were moving fast.
