Of Slurry and Swag
Playwell’s contact from GPM explained that they were looking for a promotional item for tradeshows. Swag is common, but they wanted something that their potential clients would really appreciate. Something that they could buy in bulk and hold on to for future tradeshows or special clients as well.
The client shared photos of the GPM-Eliminator™ at their discovery call, suggesting that the Playwell team could design a brick version. Done up in GPM-branding, this set could be a fun display model that also reminds GPM’s potential clients of the product and who manufactures the pump.
Branding and Story
The Playwell Bricks designer carefully recreated the GPM-Eliminator™ in bricks, sharing concepts with the client and adjusting the model based on feedback until finally, this custom Playwell Bricks set was approved and moved into the manufacturing steps.
GPM, Inc. took advantage of the attention and engagement the building process would have, including their branding and content in the Build Instructions. This content includes GPM’s goals when this pump was first manufactured in 1989, the ground-breaking elements introduced with that first GPM-Eliminator™, and of course, the pump’s toughness and reliability.
These notes also include available accessories, upgrades, and servicing, notes that are embedded into the experience of building this set. Since this custom GPM-Eliminator™ also features a decal with the phone number to contact GPM, Inc. should such accessories and servicing be needed, it will be front and center in a unique place where the recipients will remember to look.
