In 2021, Stink Studios approached Playwell Bricks CEO Jason Pyett to advise that they were working with Google to aid in the rebranding of what was to become the Google Bug Hunters Program. As part of this rebrand, they wanted to create ten different gift sets to represent the different aspects of Google. These gifts would be distributed to the ethical hackers who search for coding bugs in Google programs, enabling Google to ensure that its systems work and work well.
The Subject
While many of these sets represented the different operating systems, Stink Studios advised Jason that one of these sets should be an ethical hacker’s desk. That’s right, this one would be the home base of a bug hunter.
The hacker station should include a tech-savvy minifigure setup, fully prepared for the ethical hacker to get started on code examination, hunting down those bugs and hoping for the big prize.
Designing the Hacker Station
In order to design this set, Jason made note of all the things that should be on a hacker’s desk. A multiple-screen setup, certainly. With the help of decals, he included lines of code on the screens, as well as the new Google Bug Hunters logo, among others. The hacker would have a gaming chair for hours of comfortable sitting.
From there, Jason considered accessories. A coffee mug with the Google logo, a pizza box, a mobile phone, a stress ball, and stacks of bits and bobs completed the picture.
The final result is a hacker’s station that looks active, as if the hacker has just stepped away and is about to return to his desk. It’s the perfect accessory to be placed on a computer desk, especially one that belongs to a Bug Hunter.
Conclusion
