Denios US, Inc. provides “custom engineered storage solutions” for hazardous chemicals across multiple industries. With an important trade show coming up, Denios US, Inc.’s marketing team wanted to see how a custom Playwell Bricks set would go over with potential clients.

The team at Denios US, Inc. had a specific product in mind for their custom Playwell Bricks set: their bestselling Lithium-Ion Cabinets. These cabinets are created to safely store lithium-ion batteries on multiple scales of size, right up to an entire room. It’s worth noting that, despite the name, these are more than your typical household cabinets; they’re highly sophisticated units integrated with a “3-stage warning/fire suppression system and smoke detector.”

For this set, Denios had Playwell recreate one of the smaller, two-door cabinets.

Working from product photos and CAD schematics provided by Denios, Playwell Bricks designer Thiago Brisolla took care in the cabinet’s recreation. He worked closely with the test builder to make certain the doors opened easily, an element he’s proud of. “It was fun to create the door mechanism,” he says. “It’s really satisfying how the doors open and close perfectly on the cabinet.”

For the cabinet door, Playwell Bricks’ graphic designer Kostik Poloskin created a decal to represent the Hazmat Labels, making this brick cabinet as much like the real thing as possible at this scale.

Small, colourful pieces represent the batteries themselves, and while this brick set does not offer any fire resistance, Playwell Bricks is confident that Denios’ clients will still enjoy the build.
