How this Custom Set Brought Country Partner’s Vision to Life
Introduction
When Nebraska’s Country Partners Cooperative (CPC) wanted something fun and agriculture-related for their quarterly onboarding program, they brought their idea to Playwell Bricks and asked the team to bring it to life.
The Challenge
Playwell’s contact at CPC explained that they wanted to create a unique challenge for their new employees. They imagined a custom agricultural sprayer set that the employees could build after being divided into groups. One person in the group would be designated the leader and have the set’s building instructions. The challenge would lay in explaining to the group how to build the set without showing them the instructions. Then, at the end of the day, everybody would take home their own set to have as a reminder.
The Solution
Working from photographs that CPC of the agricultural sprayer, Playwell Bricks designer Norman Roldan created this custom set. “Constraining the design of a large piece of farm machinery to such a small size seemed intimidating at first, but then I realized there was a surprising level of elegance that came with meeting such a goal, so the final result was very rewarding,” Norman recalls.
“My favorite part about the design was the driver’s seat. I got the opportunity to get really creative and implemented a solution that incorporated--what I affectionately like to call--the espresso machine handle, a wrench, and a clip plate.”
The Result
With this custom-designed Playwell Bricks set, CPC was able to see their vision brought to life. Likewise, they now have an on-brand agricultural set to use in their onboarding program as both a team-building exercise and a keepsake to boost a sense of belonging for their new employees.
