The Browning School is one of New York City’s top private boy’s schools. Their focus is on educating boys from kindergarten through high school, preparing them for college and beyond by instilling values and helping them become the best versions of themselves. As such, every year a new crop of boys and their families are invited to the school to get a feel for the space and imagine themselves as part of the Browning School’s Panther Pack.

Ahead of one of these visits, the Browning School wanted to find a gift that the boys and their families would appreciate, that would represent the school’s values, and also remind those boys of who they might become as one of the Browning School’s students. A generic gift just couldn’t do this kind of lifting, so the Browning School contacted Playwell Bricks to enquire about a custom-designed brick set.

Playwell’s contact at the Browning School knew what they wanted: a set of their black panther mascot. They explained their reasons in this quote that was later included in the build instructions for this set: “The Panther has long stood as a symbol of quiet strength, focus, and determination – all qualities we believe reflect the spirit of Browning students. Agile and courageous, the Panther represents how our students move through the world: with intellect, compassion, and purpose. At Browning, the Panther is more than a mascot—it’s a reminder of who we are and who we strive to become.”

Playwell Bricks designer Kostik Poloskin brought this panther to life, going through multiple iterations until he captured just the right balance of aesthetics and athleticism that Browning School requested. Keeping his young audience in mind, he also included playability features that will keep this set from collecting dust and keep the Browning School in mind.

Not only did the kids have a memorable, fun gift, the Browning School now had a gift for their school visitors that would remind the visitors of their school tour and the Panther Pack they would become a part of by attending.
