The Town of Parker, Colorado, was approaching their 45th anniversary of incorporation in 2026. In case that wasn’t momentous enough, the state of Colorado was celebrating its 150th anniversary, and its country, the U.S.A., was also celebrating its 250th anniversary. 2026 was not a year the Town was going to let pass without marking the event, so a representative of the Town of Parker, Colorado, reached out to Playwell Bricks to commission a commemorative gift.

At their discovery call, the client explained that, on top of all of these special anniversaries, the town was also finishing up a multi-year renovation project that included an addition to the Town Hall. The town planned a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the public, and “we wanted to commemorate it all with something more unique than a water bottle or a t-shirt.

“We want a gift that’s pretty unique. Ideally, it would be a memento that people can keep on their desk,” they went on to explain. “So many giveaways are just junk that people keep for a couple weeks, or they forget about it, put it in a drawer, and then eventually, it gets tossed. We’re looking for something that has a little more personality and a little more staying power.”

The client settled on the idea of a lamp post for their set, as it’s “one of the most recognizable symbols of our community.”

Playwell Bricks team member Petrus Gartler designed this custom lamp post based on photos and the lamp post icon on the town’s website. The client loved the first concept that Petrus sent, their only change request being the colour of the flags to the side of the post, which they wanted to be in blue. 

Of course, the Town also took the time to write a commemorative note to their gift recipients to be included in the Build Instructions. In the years to come, this note ensures this gift set will be a lovely souvenir and tiny time capsule of 2026.

With this custom lamp post set, the Town of Parker, Colorado, has a memorable gift that represents their community to commemorate a significant year in the Town’s history. It’s also a gift that’s unique and full of personality and staying power. 

When the Town of Parker, Colorado was looking for a unique item to commemorate completion of our Town Hall addition and renovation project we turned to Playwell Bricks. The idea was to recreate our trademark lamp posts, one of the most recognizable symbols of our community. 

The team at Playwell took the concept and quickly created a near-identical replica. The lamp post kit received high marks from our elected officials, staff, and community members at giveaway events. Working with Playwell staff was a positive experience every step of the way, and we are already working on our second project.
