ThisGen 911 is a training and practice simulator for 911 operators, offering practical and true-to-life AI-powered emergency calls that prepare operators and dispatchers for the real thing. With a busy trade show and conference schedule ahead, ThisGen 911 contacted Playwell Bricks for a custom set that would represent the heroes at the core of what they do. 

At their discovery call, the client explained that while there were plenty of LEGO® sets dedicated to emergency professionals like police, firefighters, and EMTs, there really wasn’t anything that celebrated the people who answer 911 calls. The client wanted to rectify that with this commission. 

Rather than go small to accommodate many trade show attendees, this client opted for a larger set that could capture all the important details and encourage the trade show crowd to enter a raffle to win the set instead. 

This set would need to display a 911 operator’s workspace, consisting of a work desk, multiple monitors, chair, and headset. They’d also like to see some office-type things to make it feel like the real deal.

Playwell Bricks team member Petrus Gartler designed this custom 911 dispatch set, using images of actual scenes to inform his design. With a five-monitor setup and a very ergonomic-looking chair, he included a water cooler and a coffee station to keep this dispatcher well hydrated and caffeinated, and a houseplant to offer a nod to wellness and mental health care.

At the client’s request, Petrus added a special wall to display the ThisGen 911 logo, along with a Thin Gold Line plaque to honour the service these operators provide. These details were brought to life as decals by the Playwell Bricks graphics team, as well as the displays on the five monitors.

With these custom Playwell Bricks, the ThisGen 911 team has a giveaway and raffle item that celebrates the heroes who answer 911 calls. The sets are built to reflect an actual 911 work station, from the monitors to the coffee station and headsets. Importantly, these sets also meet the client’s goal of rectifying the too-long absence of 911 dispatchers in buildable brick sets, letting 911 dispatchers see themselves in bricks at last.
