The Northern Illinois University Foundation wanted a special donor gift for their Huskies United Day of Giving that would help turn pride into meaningful engagement. They commissioned a special custom set of the “castle on the hill,” the landmark Altgeld Hall, as the gift for one of the donation tiers.

Altgeld Hall has a gorgeous Tudor Gothic style and was completed in 1899. Back in those days, Altgeld Hall housed the entire university, and these days, it’s still a campus landmark that evokes countless memories for NIU alumni. Brought to life in microscale, this custom Playwell Bricks set is sure to be treasured.

And while this custom set wasn’t the only donor gift of the NIU Foundation Huskies United Day of Giving, the Playwell team was proud to learn that the fundraiser was successful, securing over $2.7 million in funding for the university and students. Way to go NIU!
