Kraken Technologies is a software provider that helps energy companies run greener and better. Unlike an octopus, a kraken has eight legs and two arms, and Kraken Technologies uses all ten of those limbs to help the energy industry use renewable sources more efficiently and with greater success.

With a major event coming up with over 250 energy decision makers around the world, Kraken came to Playwell Bricks looking for something that would stand out, a true statement piece that would command attention and leave an impression.

Kraken Technologies already knew they wanted their statement piece to be modeled after their namesake, the Kraken. “Something that when you’re sitting at your desk or wherever, you can loop the arms around and fidget with it,” they explained.

Playwell Bricks designer Pedro Lara started this design with a focus on successfully managing the flexible joints, consulting with Playwell’s other designers on how to best build the joints so that they could withstand being used as a fidget toy. With some teamwork and experimentation, this was soon mastered, leaving Pedro to focus on bringing this purple kraken to life.

This custom Playwell Bricks kraken set served as a statement piece at Kraken Technologies’ industry event, putting their brand and their brand story into the hands of the energy industry’s leader. Each time they build and fidget with this purple kraken, they’ll be reminded of Kraken Technologies and the helping hands this software can provide their clients.

In a LinkedIn post, Kraken Technologies showed off their new custom set with the caption, “I’ve finally been able to see what a [brick] kraken would look like doing ballet!”
