2024 marked SRT developer and “mission critical video solutions” provider Haivision’s twentieth anniversary. Haivision didn’t want to miss this opportunity to celebrate everything they’ve achieved and reflect on the business that they’ve grown to become.

The challenge was coming up with a celebration gift that would appeal to the Haivision team and their partners. They wanted something the recipients would be proud to show off and represented Haivision’s brand and personality.

Haivision commissioned Playwell Bricks to create a shark-mech character that represented both their “sharks” (employees) and that showed their products in a fast-paced, fun way.

Playwell Bricks designer Petrus Gartler had a lot to consider. “It should be strong, but not aggressive, rugged, but high tech, convey the feeling of safety, but not look old-school. It should be a friendly, but serious character.” Petrus ultimately designed a quick, athletic shark loaded up with Haivision products.

The Haivision absolutely loved their shark mechs, proudly bringing them along to their trade shows and conferences. Their director of Control Room Alliances shared many posts of the shark mech on LinkedIn with the hashtag #streamshark so followers could follow along on this mech’s adventures.
