The Roanoke Regional Partnership wants people to get to know Roanoke, VA (U.S.A), for work and for play. As part of this mission, they offer an 8-week summer program that gives local employers the opportunity to integrate new hires into the region, while also helping prepare these hires for their careers.

At the end of this special program, the Partnership gives attendees a care package of items that represent the area. They reached out to Playwell Bricks to see about a custom set to include in this package that would represent their region, incorporating the elements of play and work for these young professionals.

The fine people at Get2KnowNoke advised Playwell Bricks of the different elements that represent their area, including the massive star on Mill Mountain and the Blue Ridge Mountains.

They also suggested Playwell design a business card holder for these new professionals. The idea developed from there, with a card holder “showing an overview of the city, with the star and the blue mountains behind,” as Playwell Bricks designer Jared Oswald explained.

With this custom Playwell Bricks design, Get2KnowNoke program has a special addition to their end-of-program care package that incorporates notable features of the area and will be useful to these young professionals as they embark on their careers.

Not to mention, “there’s a whimsical charm to this project that just makes me smile. I have one on my desk,” designer Jared says.
