The Garberhof Hotel, nestled in the Dolomite Alps, is a family-focused destination where parents can relax while their children embark on adventures in Pino-land, a two-storey playpark guided by the hotel’s beloved mascot, Pino the Bear. Wanting to create a thoughtful client appreciation gift and lasting souvenir, Garberhof turned to Playwell Bricks to bring Pino to life in a custom brick set.

Garberhof needed a gift that would capture the magic of a child’s vacation while reinforcing the hotel’s family-first identity. Generic souvenirs wouldn’t reflect the personal connection children form with Pino, the central character of their Garberhof experience. The challenge was to design a keepsake that was simple enough for young builders, instantly recognizable as Pino, and memorable enough to be treasured long after families left the Alps.

Playwell Bricks designer Pedro Lara was tasked with translating Pino’s warmth and playfulness into brick form. At the client’s request, the design featured Pino sitting, wearing his trademark green scarf, with a rounded belly and soft ear shapes. Achieving the bear’s “fluffiness” within the scale of the set required creative part choices and smart design, but the result was a model that both children and parents could instantly recognize and enjoy building together.

The custom Pino the Bear set delivered exactly what Garberhof envisioned: a unique, branded gift that deepened the emotional connection families feel during their stay. Parents and children could relive their vacation memories at home, brick by brick, while Garberhof reinforced its identity as a place where family stories begin. Pino the Bear’s tradition continues to grow, not only as the guardian of Pino-land but also as a tactile reminder of cherished holidays, carried home by every family who receives the set.
