How Playwell Bricks Helped Commemorate an Innovative Design
Introduction
In 2023, Multiplex Globel, an Australian construction company, was constructing an innovative building on Murdoch University’s Perth campus. The biophilic building, named Boola Katitjin-a Whadjuk Noongar term for lots of learning-showcased new ideas in sustainable design.
the challenge
As the project approached completion, Multiplex Global knew that they and their partners had created something special. The many awards the building would soon win were still waiting in the future, but everyone involved already knew they wanted something to commemorate their accomplishment.
the solution
What better way to celebrate Boola Katitjin than by a buildable custom model, after all? By commissioning a custom model to build from bricks, Multiplex Global’s giftees would have the opportunity to relive the original construction event, bringing back fond memories and forging ever deeper connections with those involved. Soon, Multiplex Global reached out Playwell Bricks to explain what they wanted.
the results
Playwell Bricks CEO Jason Pyett designed the custom set using Multiplex Global’s architectural plans and 3D models. Once Multiplex Global approved the final design, over ¾ of a meter long (~2.5 feet) and highlighting the gorgeous details of the Boola Katitjin’s unique architecture, Playwell Bricks shifted into production, creating 13 sets to send to Australia.
