Newtown Macon is on a mission to revitalize historic downtown Macon. The Newtown Macon team contacted Playwell Bricks in search of a special gift for their CEO. They wanted a gift that would marry his life-long love of LEGO® with the passion he brought to their downtown work. A custom Playwell Bricks set had the potential to be the ideal gift!

After some discussion, the team determined that a custom set of the Macon’s Bibb Theatre would be the ideal subject. Originally a grocery built in 1888, the building was remodeled into the Bibb Theatre in 1938, a major destination at the time. The theatre closed its doors in 1978, but the building remained an important part of the historic, downtown core. Nowadays, the city uses the large white portion of the building’s façade to host outdoor movie nights.

Recreating the Bibb as a custom Playwell Brick set would be the perfect gift!

Playwell Bricks designer Michael Clark recreated this historic building in bricks, nodding to its blockbuster roots by employing robot arms for the street lamps along the side of the building. Nice touch, Michael!
