“At first, I was surprised, you know? There are these bags of [bricks] in the box, which is just, like a core childhood memory I haven’t accessed in years. But there’s also the image of the finished set, and it’s in our company colours. Just, they’re all over the office and instantly recognizable. Our logo’s right there. I don’t know, I was just grinning from ear to ear.

“We got this QR code for the directions, so I bring those up on my phone and wow- just the sense of nostalgia I’m getting from the way the instructions look is intense. It was like a journey. I time traveled.”

“There was no way I could wait, I started building my set right away.” He holds it up so I can see it on my screen. “I forgot how engrossing building with [bricks] can be. The world just disappeared on me. Which was great, because my job can be stressful most days. No, this was an awesome gift. I don’t think I’ve always understood what people meant by ‘experience gifts’ but this was an awesome experience.”
