Some of Playwell Bricks’ clients are really into bricks and brick culture, while others are simply looking for a fun and inspirational corporate gift. We welcome both schools, but even longtime brick fans may not be familiar with the ins and clicks of creating a custom Playwell Bricks set, and that’s what this post is for.

Playwell Bricks clients have the choice between brand name LEGO® bricks or choosing compatible bricks. It’s simplest to think of these as non-brand name bricks. In many cases, compatible bricks are less expensive, can ship faster and in greater quantities, are available in custom colours (important for branding!), but these bricks are only available if the brick itself has grown out of patent.

So if you’re an adult fan of bricks (AFOL) who loves what’s become possible with the latest LEGO® release, you probably want to stick with LEGO® bricks. Plus, there is something nostalgic about seeing that brand name stamped atop the brick studs.

Playwell Bricks highly encourage our clients to feature their brand on their bricks set. After all, we want your recipients to think of you while they build their custom set! This can be done in two ways: with stickers, the same way you may have once attached decals to your brick sets as a child; or with printed bricks, wherein the image is printed directly onto the brick.

Stickers are generally the more practical choice; they can be printed quickly, even in bulk numbers, for less. However, sometimes a brand might want to remove the chance of human error that can come with decals, and that’s where printed bricks come in.
